Visit the Tea plantations and Tea factories

Nuwara Eliya is known for its impressive lush green tea plantations. As soon as you step off the train, you will be overwhelmed by miles and miles of tea leaves. Ramboda Falls in Nuwara Eliya

The park is spread throughout Kirigalpotta and Totapola, the two tallest mountains in the region. World’s End is the main attraction of Horton Plains National Park. The Horton Plains plateau ended abruptly at World’s End, a dramatic slope that plunges 880m and offers breathtaking views of the endless world. This 9.5 km round trip will take 3 hours to hike at a leisurely pace. Be sure to get there early and keep an eye on the weather as the view from the world’s end is often rain or fog can totally ruin the experience. Relax around Lake Gregory

Lake Gregory in the heart of the city was built by Governor William Gregory between 1872 and 1877. It is a wetland converted into a beautiful lake for use of recreational activities. The park received its name in 1897 as a way to commemorate Queen Victoria’s 60th year on her throne. The Park is a lovely, frequently visited oasis. Because it offers excellent opportunity to spot Indian Blue Robins, Pled Thrushes, or Scaly Thrushes hiding in the deeper undergrowth, it is well-liked by birdwatchers during quieter periods. Another lovely bird species found in the park is the Kashmir Flycatcher. A mini-railway line is being built at Victoria Park’s children’s park. The Park is open to the public all year round, but to get the most out of your visit, it’s advised that you go between the months of March and May and again between the months of August and September, when the flowers are in full bloom.

Bale Bazzar

It’s adjacent to the Hakgala Strict Nature Reserve, making it a hotspot for various flora and fauna consisting of over 10,000 unique species⁠—many of which are vibrant blooms. Due to its altitude being about 5,400 ft above sea level, the temperatures tend to get a bit chilly all year round, with it dropping to about 16°C during its coldest period (December to February), with the warmest period being April to August when the temperature reaches about 30°C. The garden is open to visitors from 7.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. every day. Whether you’re visiting with the family, looking for a romantic hangout with your partner, or just out to rest your mind on your own, the garden is sure to welcome all with its pleasant and inviting setting that is akin to the traditional English garden that meets the wilderness.
