Matara also a one of district that famous for ramparts. There are two forts here. From the top, one of them looks like a star. So that fort is called the Star Fortress..And it has the second most important fort that is with dutch and english architecture style. Matara is home to oldest lighthouse in Sri Lanka which was built by Dutch.

The Nilwala River flows beautifully across Matara district. The district is famous for its Buddhist temples and beautiful beaches. Mirissa Beach, Paravi Island, veherahena temple are some beautiful places that can tour in matara . Many fun and adventurous activities can be done here.
