Politics of Sri Lanka is one of the main framework among all other features. Every country, group and organization use politics to instrument various ways to organize their events, prospects and more.

The Politics of Sri Lanka reflect the historical and political differences between the three main ethnic groups. The majority Sinhala and the minorities Tamils and Muslims, who are concentrated in the north and east of the island. Further, President of Sri Lanka is the head of government. Currently, Mr.Gotabhaya Rajapaksha is the president of Sri Lanka and the prime minister is Mr.Mahinda Rajapaksha who was the president in 2005. Mainly the President, directly elected for a five-year term. The parliament has 225 members and it reserves the power to make all laws.

Ministers are appointed by the President, who chairs the cabinet and appoints the independent judiciary. Most people hate politics and government without really knowing what they are. Acutually most of people hate to talk about this subject.  It is because most of the politicians are corrupted. So they can not even trust. But not all are the same. Some say politics of Sri Lanka is an art and some say it is a way of thinking. However, in my point of view politics is the greediness of power. William Gopallawa was the first president in Sri Lanka. Gopallawa went against Queen Elizabeth II and was successful. According to that, they were able to change the name of country from “Ceylon” to “Sri Lanka”.
