Forest in Srilanka is home for a variety of mammals, reptiles, birds, and amphibians. Different types of flora and fauna can be seen in the forest. There are huge trees and minor plants that give their support to provide clean air to nature. Trees are incredible objects which can produce oxygen to survive.  28.8% of area has a forest in Srilanka and nearly 1.04% average is lost per year. 751 species of amphibians, birds, mammals, and reptiles are found in Sri Lanka and 21.7% of them can not be found in any other country. Likewise, within Sri Lanka, at least 3314 plants are lived and 26.9% of them are endemic.

Numerous flora and fauna are most precious because of their robustness. Some get as medicine. Therefore,
huge trees and valuable plants are under threat nowadays.
Sinharaja rain forest, world heritage property is identified as a biodiversity hotspot in Sri Lanka. The tropical evergreen
forest is home for almost 50% of endemic wildlives. Elephants, purple face langur, leopards, sambar, fishing cat, mouse deer,
wild boar, golden palm civet, Sri Lanka wood pigeon, Sri Lanka myna and red-faced malkoha are some of them.
Gin Ganga and Kalu Ganga which is classified as an important river in Sri Lanka are fed by the forest Sinharaja.
Sinharaja helps to procure rainfall and balance the climate.
Peak wildness sanctuary, located within the Sabaragamuwa mountain range is a tropical rainforest. It is considered as the third
largest sanctuary in Sri Lanka. It is a birthplace for major rivers on the island called Kalu, Kelani, and Walawe.

Furthermore, Willpattu is another jungle which is situated in a dry zone. Actually it is declared as the largest wildlife
sanctuary in Sri Lanka. Finally, there are worthy forests in Sri Lanka that need to protect.
